A Royal Recognition: me&dee charity receives The King’s Award for Voluntary Service
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
We’re absolutely overjoyed to share some incredible news, we have officially been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service!
This award is the highest honour that can be given to a voluntary organisation in the UK. Described as the MBE for volunteer groups, this award shines a light on the dedication, kindness and spirit that define our volunteer family.
At me&dee, every moment we create for families facing life-changing and life-limiting circumstances is made possible by the amazing people who give their time, energy and hearts to our cause. This recognition belongs to each and every one of you.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, united by a shared passion for helping others. Most notably, our Founder Maria has run me&dee for nineteen years completely from a volunteer capacity – never taking a salary and consistently dedicated to making a meaningful difference. From our trustee board and our longest-serving volunteers to our newest and youngest, every person plays their part. Their compassion, creativity, dedication and unwavering support are the heartbeat of everything we do.
This award is more than a celebration. It’s a reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together with kindness at it’s core. To every volunteer who has packed a raffle prize, organised an event, shared a post, or offered a hand to a family in need – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You make the extraordinary possible.
We couldn’t be prouder to share this achievement with you all. Here’s to every helping hand, every smile, and every moment of hope we create together.
Please keep an eye out for our announcements of the celebrations to follow!
