What or who is Hope the Elephant?

We started gifting Hope back in 2018, given to our families who were taking holidays in our caravans in Mablethorpe. She quickly grew in popularity and it was a thought in the middle of the night, (As they usually are), from Maria who had been thinking about what to do with the little pouches in Hopes ears.

You see, her ears had got zips on them, zips that simply allowed embroidery to be done without the backing showing, to Maria these pouches were special secret places where thoughts could be left, to be discovered and read by family members when they were ready to remember. So little notelets’ were designed and put inside the ear for the owner to write their thoughts and memories down, something that continues to this day.

The addition of the mini voice recorder came shortly afterwards, after a discussion with a family member, who had said that what they dreaded most was that they would forget what their loved ones voice sounded like or their laugh, we think you’ll agree an easy decision to purchase and include in Hopes secret pouch.

So that is who and what Hope is, a memory gift that’s not only very cuddly but she keeps memories alive, memories that are shared and cherished.
