Zorran’s Marathon Run

Zorran puts his best foot forward for me&dee and raises £10,000!

We’d like to give the hugest of shout outs to the very wonderful Zorran Carnell who has raised an amazing £10,000 for us by running the London Marathon.

Zorran has been an absolutely star fundraiser and supporter of me&dee for very many years and it was brilliant for our team to attend OMOMO Korean Street Food + Bubble Tea in Derby for a celebration when he handed over £10,606.64.

This money will go such a very long way to helping us with our work supporting families who come to us for help.

Zorran’s fundraising is even more remarkable because this was his first marathon!

He’d been trying to get a ballot place for the famous event for 14 years and was finally given a slot this year, and he chose to support us with his amazing efforts.

Our very special junior ambassador, Taylor Lewis, was on hand to help Zorran present the money.

Zorran said: “I’m not really a runner – I’ve only really done a 10k before – but I’ve been putting my name in the London Marathon ballot for 14 years! I was lucky to get a spot. Not many people get in.”

Zorran has managed to raise thousands of pounds for us over the years with a friend through running a ‘skinnyman’ tuck shop.

He said he was very proud to be able to help us because as a local charity – unlike some larger organisations – you can see exactly where the money goes.

Our founder Maria Hanson MBE, along with partner and charity head of operations Mark Harrison, travelled to London specially to wave Zorran off on his marathon.

Representatives from the many organisations which supported Zorran’s marathon were at OMOMO to help celebrate his achievement, including

Thank you to everyone who sponsored Zorran, your support was really appreciated and helped him put one foot in front of the other!
